Exquisite attention to detail; rooms beautifully decorated. Quiet property overflowing with flowers is located next door to public library within a residential area instead of a commercial district. Friendly owners with a wealth of knowledge about the island. We didn't hear a single car honk during our stay, and experienced peace that had been forgotten.

Our room at the Discovery Inn was perfect. It was sparkling clean and beautifully decorated, welcoming and fully stocked and oh so comfortable. The real treasure though is the staff. Incredibly helpful and in the know for all things an island visitor would need. We ordered a breakfast basket and it was beyond expectations!

Exceptional place, great experience! We stayed at Discovery Inn over the July 4th holiday. Malia (working the front desk) sat us down, shared her enthusiasm for the island, and gave us a full itinerary for our 3 day stay. Her recommendations were fantastic! Clean, spacious, well-appointed rooms. Would highly recommend Discovery Inn - location is within walking distance of downtown Friday Harbor.

My husband and I spend at least 60 nights each year in hotels, and I can say with all honesty, this has been the best experience we have ever had. The hotel is charming, in a quiet area but close enough to walk to town, the rooms are very clean and well maintained, and every amenity you could need is provided. But the best part of this establishment is the personal service the owners offer. We learned all about the island and were able to see and experience so much more with the information we were given. They solved problems we didn't know existed!

It is a small hotel, but you can tell the owner and everyone working there put a lot of love into it. Everything is very thoughtfully arranged — from the makeup remover wipes and earplugs in the room to the games thoughtfully prepared in the garden and the warm smiles from the staff. I’ve stayed in many luxurious hotels, but none quite compare to the sense of warmth and comfort I felt here. A big thank you as well to the team for helping us find my daughter’s lost Apple Pencil. I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel to everyone.

Only regret is not staying longer! Ayre and Malia were fabulous hosts!! Attention to detail was unmatched!!! Everything was super clean and thoughtful! Beautiful rooms! In ground hot tub was great! Tons of games and cute sitting areas all around the stunning gardens!!!

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and had to book a one night stay on Friday Harbor because of poor planning on my part. I honestly just chose one of the least expensive options just so we had a place to stay. We were very surprised when we walked into our room on how nice it was. The pics on their website don’t do it justice. Staff were very nice and helpful.
