We visited The Gallivant in Camber Sands for a private dining experience and it could not have been more special. Set just behind the dunes with the scent of sea salt in the air, the space feels secluded and beautifully designed, softly lit with coastal hues and artful details that mirror its surroundings. Dinner was hosted in an intimate room that felt like a secret hideaway, perfectly suited for lingering conversation and exceptional food. The newly opened Harry’s restaurant leads the culinary direction and it shows. Every plate was thoughtful and quietly confident, from fresh Rye Bay fish to local vegetables, all prepared with a delicious sensibility that lets the ingredients speak for themselves. The service was warm and unobtrusive, the pacing effortless, and the wine pairings chosen with real care. Such a fabulous evening and such a wonderful location for any special occasion - Christmas, birthdays or weddings!

Beautiful food, amazing service and stylish decor. Loved the roast, homemade lemonade and plum crumble and great that it is dog friendly. We were surprised at the large portions of dessert! Not that it is a criticism, but we have large appetites and found them hard to finish despite being so tasty. The £40 cancellation fee felt a little steep, even though I agree with them. It might have put me off without a personal recommendation, but glad we did as it was well worth it.

My husband and I dined here during our one-night mini-moon at the Gallivant last month. We thoroughly enjoyed our fillet steaks, beautifully cooked medium rare. Despite not being a fan of horseradish, I really enjoyed the accompanying horseradish and marrow butter. The flavour was superb and not overbearing in the slightest. The spring greens and chips were also very moreish. The homemade mango sorbet for dessert was terrific. Service was friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves. Having dined at the Gallivant during stays in previous years, we were impressed with the Harry’s relaunch - well done chefs and team!

Harry’s at the Gallivant hotel is an absolute delight. It is the kind of restaurant that feels both effortlessly relaxed and wonderfully refined. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed with warmth and expert attention. Somehow it has captured the chic of a New York boutique restaurant with a coastal cool - really wonderful. Then there was our meal - my husband and I were truly impressed. The menu is local, seasonal and flavourful. Each dish seems carefully considered but is never too fussy or pretentious- just delicious. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough.

Lovely location and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive. However for the price I thought the food was slightly lacking. The terrine needed seasoning (and was quite stingy with the amount of bread given), the steak wasn't that falavourful and the portion sizes were quite small. I appreciate that the food is locally sourced (which rightfully so increases the price) but I just felt that the price didn't quite match the expectation. It is a shame because the potential is there.

Popped in to the Gallivant yesterday evening after a walk on the beach for a lovely glass of English wine alone. I wanted to eat but i felt alittle awkward to eat alone but Lindsay made me feel so comfortable and encouraged me to try the delicious food. What a absolutely divine meal I had. Creamy flavoursome mushroom soup followed by a succulent hake fillet and a delicious side of hollandaise cauliflower and brocoli cooked to absolute perfection. The whole meal felt so healthy, wholesome, nutritious with incredible flavour! Will definitely be back and thank you Lindsay for making me feel so at home. You were wonderful.

Could not fault this place! The couple of times I’ve stayed at the Gallivant, dinner at Harry’s never disappoints - food is top tier and their wine selection pairs beautifully. Elevated British cuisine in a lovely and cosy seating! Breakfast is also wonderful, with a good variety of sweet and savoury dishes to start the morning. Strongly recommend if you’re in the area.

Really nice food. This is a lovely smallish venue. Small car park. Nice welcome and offered drinks in the bar beforehand. Went to our table and was treated to seeing a yoga class on the other side of the open area next to the restaurant. Perfect Eel course starter. Main was a delicious meal course and oddly chips. Dessert was a delicious St Emillion chocolate dessert. Has a double espresso afterwards that was nice but a tiny bit cooler than I like. Cocktails were nice but the kentish sour was a tad sweet for my tastes. Nice food but just missing exceptional. It has potential. Clean toilets.
