This is a gem in the mountains but if you are looking for a modern boutique hotel this is not it. We got a classic king room, which is not updated. It's perfectly fine and the price was right. I was disappointed to hear that the restaurant is not open right now due to some unfortunate circumstances, but we still enjoyed our stay. The room we stayed out was large and had older furniture and outlets. If you need to use an outlet, I'd recommend bringing a portable charging station. We carry one when we travel hat in case and this was a good time to have it bc the outlets are from the 50s and there are not many to use. The wood paneling on the wall next to the bed was a vibe and there was even a space heater in the bathroom from the 50s that still works. The bed was a little more of a firm mattress. I think the updated rooms might have cushier mattresses but I'm not sure bc I haven't stayed in one yet. This is a family owned business so you probably aren't going to get 24/7 access to the front desk, but you will get your privacy. The doors lock behind you automatically so just be aware. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

It wasn't as bad as I thought when I first walked in the room. Stayed a few days on a work trip. Host was actually pretty good. Property is in a bit of disrepair honestly... But it wasn't a family trip or anything and the location was great, so it worked fine for me. If you have high expectations, you'll be disappointed.

This Motel/Restaurant is closed. It is in the process of being converted into studio apartments with a possible renovation of the restaurant. One of the owners fied andcthe entire facility has been sold. Check back later to see if it will reopen.

Excellent service. We couldn’t find a room anywhere for miles due to an event going on. Found this motel online at 10pm, called, and they kept the office open an extra hour for us to arrive so we could have a room for the night. Not only that, but the lady that stayed the extra hour also went to our room and turned the lights on for our arrival. The price was excellent, too, at $85 for a king. We were so grateful for the amazing service she gave us. :)

So glad we found this B&B. Owners were terrific and definitely had many years experience in restaurant & B&B experience. So welcoming & friendly. I truly enjoyed our conversations. Our room was spacious & recently remodeled with new carpet, fresh paint, and modern refrigerator & microwave. They own the restaurant which had a great menu at the same convenient location. If you are traveling the aBlie Ridge Parkway or near Roaring Gap, NC this is a great place. Call the, directly to reserve your room.

I've traveled quite a bit in my 68 years and never wrote a bad review for a hotel/motel or Inn. This Inn is in terrible condition inside and out, parking lot needs work. The entire building is in need of paint and repairs of rotten wood. The photos on line must be from years back. The pool water was black, lots of weeds and overgrowth all around it, scary and nasty to say the least. I saw the reviews prior to booking, seemed an ok place to stay 1 nite while traveling. Room 112 smelled of mold and mildew, it was very apparent that the room had flooded at some point, the carpet had been replaced but the stains and bubbling on the walls were very apparent, you could also see where a leak had ran down the wall and bubbled up in corner opposite the bathroom, there was mold/mildew on the bathroom ceiling, on the baseboards and down the side of the bath tub. The smell was so bad that we left the door open for 2 hours prior to our leaving for an event nearby. Tried opening the windows but could not get them open. The air conditioner had no knob so we could not turn it to "fan" to let in outside air. Upon returning to the room around 10:30 after our event we tried to sleep but the odor was terrible and obviously not healthy. At 1 a.m. I asked my husband if he wanted to just sleep in the car. We left the establishment very early and headed to VA, when we opened our suitcases at our destination most of our clothing smelled like room 112, we had to launder them. I hope I never have to experience anything like that again. Health Department needs to do and inspection of the property starting with 112.

Never again. Something about this place just doesn't add up. It's the middle of summer, yet the pool had not been cleaned & was shut down. There were no customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night, Friday I only saw one table occupied. Met the lady to check in, she never said welcome, have a nice night, etc. Saw only one server. No cell service. The lady made an emergency call for me on her landline--much appreciated. There was no soap, Kleenex, or hair dryer in the room. It was not shabby-chic, just ragged-shabby. Baseboards dirty in bathroom, limited hot water, the smallest toilet seat I've ever seen. First night I saw 4 other rooms occupied, Sat night only ours. The mattress was old and springy. The towels seemed crisp and brand new. To turn on lamp in corner, you re-screw the light bulb back in. Loosen it to turn it off. I honestly wondered if it was a front for something.

I did not personally stay here but listed this place as where to stay for my wedding. Many many things lead me to leaving this poor review. First, when I called the owner to see how many rooms were booked for my wedding I was told they were too busy to speak with me and you call back in a week by a very snarky lady. One of my guests called the front desk to ask for an iron and was told they should have ironed before they came... other guests booked a room with hot tub that was cracked and didn't work. Old, dirty, and hateful staff/owner. I tried to keep small business at heart but this place was a huge mistake.
