Room was great, spacious, and clean. Only complaint was that they close breakfast before time. I arrive 15 minutes before close and they had already closed the seating area and put away everything except the yogurt so I had just yogurt for breakfast. The attendant was just looking at us the whole time like if she wanted us to leave, not cool.

This hotel is a major letdown, especially for a Marriott property. The entire place feels outdated and cramped, and there’s nothing welcoming about the atmosphere. The bathroom door barely closes, and I had to yank the main door just to get it to shut properly. As a Marriott member, I was told my room came with complimentary water, but they were out and made me buy it instead—pretty frustrating. The “fruit basket” had bananas so black they looked rotten, and the elevator feels like it’s on its last ride. Definitely not the standard I expect from Marriott.

BEDBUGS! I found bedbugs in my luggage upon my return from stay at this property Apr 29 - May 1 2025. I immediately called the property and was told to leave a message with the manager which I did. I never received a call back so I contacted Marriott directly. (For what it is worth, I am a very loyal Marriott customer, Platinum Elite Lifetime status with more than 1000 nights with Marriott.) The Marriott supervisor I spoke with contacted the hotel and they promised to have an outside pest control company check the room. It seems they found no evidence of bedbugs. I recalled Marriott and was told the matter would be taken to Customer Affairs, after which I then received an email from the hotel saying they considered the matter closed. I am extremely disappointed in Marriott and this property in particular.

Checking into this hotel is like going to visit a friend in prison or at least that is what it looks like when you enter to the front desk. This place needs work. The breakfast did not have one piece of fruit?!? Good bacon though. The staff was also great. Next time I will read the reviews better.

This was one of the worst Marriott hotels I have ever stayed at. My room was mostly clean, but there was used lotion left in the room and the shower was not fully functional. The staff was incredibly rude by means of either ignoring customers or repeatedly finding unnecessary excuses to nag at customers (I.e. stating that a particular trashcan had to be used for trash vs. the equal-sized trashcan two feet away). The breakfast provided was lacking- there was not milk, yogurt or fruit on any of the days my team and I stayed there. The lobby and halls smell dirty too. The location is fine enough, but for the money, stay elsewhere.

Public Review – TownePlace Suites New Orleans Metairie (Harahan, LA) I am writing this review not just as a witness to a deeply disturbing situation—but as someone who believes it’s our duty to speak up when others are dehumanized. While staying at this hotel, my friend—who booked her room directly through the Marriott website—personally witnessed a horrifying incident: a young Black mother and her children were ejected from the property by a staff member named Ralph Dupree. There was no altercation, no violation, no disturbance—just racially motivated hostility. The woman and her children were removed without cause, and it was painfully clear it was because of the color of their skin. But the discrimination didn’t end there. The same employee then began aggressively targeting my friend, making a scene about the fact that she had a cat with her, despite having already paid in full for a pet-friendly stay. Instead of following policy or providing support, Ralph tried to illegally raise her rate, causing her extreme stress. And tragically, during this turmoil, her cat went into labor. One of the kittens became stuck and required emergency surgery. My friend was mistreated, overcharged, emotionally harassed, and forced to manage a medical emergency for her pet—all while witnessing another family of color be publicly humiliated and thrown out. This is not hospitality. This is abuse of power, racial discrimination, and gross misconduct under the Marriott name. I overheard false, defamatory comments being made about guests—statements that were not only unprofessional but rooted in bigotry. It’s clear this location has no respect for its guests, especially those who are people of color or in vulnerable positions. Marriott must be held accountable. Until there is a full investigation, disciplinary action, and public acknowledgment of the wrong done here, I strongly urge all travelers—especially minority families—not to stay at this location. Dignity should come with your room key. At this property, it didn’t.

Title: “Avoid at All Costs – Worst Hotel Stay Ever!” I wish I could give this place zero stars. From the moment I arrived, it was a disaster. The check-in process took forever because the front desk staff was rude and completely disorganized.The walls were paper-thin, so I got to enjoy my neighbors’ arguments and TV at full blast all night Do yourself a favor—stay anywhere else. Sleeping in your car would be a better experience.
