I’m a globalist and at check in at 4pm they told me my room wasn’t ready and that they’d text me when it was. Since we had another family there already with a room, took my girls to that room to change and enjoy the pool. At 6:30pm they still hadn’t texted me about the room! I went to the front desk and asked and the room was ready they just never contacted me! ||We love the pool. The property is simple and basic but very clean. The free breakfast was decent and very large portions. General the facility is simple but nice. ||The service could be better.

Nice hotel, beautiful architecture and nature setting. Hotel rooms were nice. Everything was clean and well cared for. The pool was huge as was the hot tub, but it was SO noisy. When we went back in the night, the pool was so dark that I was afraid to let my children swim in in because I thought I wouldn't' be able to see them well enough to monitor them from the sidelines. We enjoyed the pool in the morning when it was very well lit and not so noisy. Don't be fooled buy buying the "breakfast" option. You're only allowed one specific type of breakfast - scrambled eggs, potatoes, and meat. I was very unhappy about this as it never specified it was such a limited option. No substitutions allowed. My kids preferred pancakes and those were $17 and no thing special. I felt very duped by this. Also the place is sprawling, but at check-in no one gave us the slightest direction how to navigate - only where the two restaurants were. It was very confusing. We tried to get food in the lodge one evening and were never acknowledged, so we just left. We tried to call from the room to see if we could have it sent up, but were told that they won't answer the phone so we should go down ourselves to place an order (which we'd already tried). Overall, the place was beautiful, but it definitely lacked in service and amenities. We wanted to watch a movie, but all we could do was rent one for $22. (at the Hampton Inn we were in the night before we could log into our Netflix, which was so much better. Super tasty breakfast was included too). Overall, this place was just lacking service and not a great value.

The SPA... I went to the Hyatt only for spa services. Parking was a pain. You have to park across the street, check in with the front desk, then walk FOREVER to get to the fitness center/ spa. Be mindful that you need the key to get in. There is a tiny click that indicates that the door is unlocked. I was welcomed by Agnes, who gave me an amazing massage that felt like it lasted more than 50 minutes. The pressure was perfect, and she kept checking in with my comfort. I would definitely request her again. Afterward, you are welcome to use the hotel amenities. I used the steam room (sauna wasn't working) in the ladies' locker room. It was quiet, clean, and felt amazing. The pool had a wonderful view, and the temperature was perfect. The hot tub was great, but there was scum along the edges and a smell that was not "hot tub like." It was clean, but i had my doubts. It was a great experience overall. I would return in the summer as it seems there are beautiful walking trails.

Great hotel, good atmosphere. I am going to visit it again in summer, when leaves are all green. And there are beautiful trails and animals outside. The swimming pool is really cool, the location is quite convenient. Definitely a good place to spend your vacation.

The only positive point about this review, service did provide a garment steamer upon request. For the price charged I find it appalling they charge $3.00 for an average bottle of water they leave in the room for guests. The bedside tables appeared not to have been cleaned with quite a bit of dirt/dust along all the grooves of wood panels. The bed comforter is either extremely old or the laundry service isn’t using the best cleaning option. The overall look of this hotel is dated. The absolute worst experience with this hotel is the parking or lack of convenient parking. It’s February in Illinois with snow/ice patches all over the parking lot. Not only did we have to navigate parking far enough away to walk in freezing temps but had to navigate walking on frozen snow patches around parking spots. What hotel in winter doesn’t completely ensure safety by plowing their entire lot including individual parking spaces? Not Acceptable! We would not recommend staying at this Hyatt location especially in the winter months.

Unless you’re here for a wedding and staying as a group I wouldn’t book here. The rooms are outdated (chipped wood everywhere) no microwave in the room, a cheap mini fridge that barely got cold, and cheap sheets and blanket. I didn’t like the fact that you have to walk miles to get to a microwave, for $200/night there should be one in the room! There were also no bathroom amenities. Most hotels have soap shampoo and conditioner in the room. This hotel room had nothing but a bar of soap for handwashing. Everything in the room was cheap! I’ve had more lush amenities at cheaper hotels. The least they could do was offer a microwave in the room. This place is a catfish. Looks nothing like the photos! Parking is also super far away, making the only option valet. I’d pass on this place. Save your time and money!
