Lovely old building and space to work. If only the staff could keep the noise down. Annoying shouting and loud laughter from the reception. Also annoying kids making a din. This is a library... please be quiet.

Had to print a 2 page document and rang before calling in, staff were process driven and I had to go through the whole joining procedure before being "given access" to a pc... no further assistance or explanation as to how I then printed the document. Tried to figure out on an unfamiliar operating system and had to return to the counter for further support. I was told I had to log on to my email account (on a public computer) and email the document to myself, then print it!!! Ridiculous outdated process, no Bluetooth or ability to connect my phone, no usb available, no interest in helping further.... Nonchalant and disinterested staff who didn't appear to be doing anything else. Eventually managed to sort it out using my own ability but took far longer than anticipated and had to listen to loud screaming from children somewhere in the building (I thought libraries were supposed to be quiet spaces). Utterly incredulous at the service, considering I pay over £3000 in "Council Tax" and still had to pay 15p per page - for a 2 page document!!!! 2 stars given as I'm feeling generous!

Went to collect a couple of books I had successfully been awarded in a competition. The library is tucked in neatly within a very grand building called the Queens Hall. The library was busy with lots of youngsters in there. It was spacious and there were areas set aside for various activities. On the first floor there looked to be tables set aside for private reading.

The library is in a lovely building, 2 super staff members helped when I popped in on a recent day trip and needed to check some family history. Thanks again .
