We had a lovely stay over 3 nights at TOSH. |We more or less took over the place with our family and we were accommodated perfectly for our needs. |Ian and Kate were brilliant and made us feel SO welcome right from the moment we arrived. |The bedrooms were lovely and cosy and were furnished with luxury bed linen and towels. |Ian prepared what was probably the best breakfast we have ever had in an hotel, especially with our large group all turning up at the same time (without much warning!) |The children loved all the games provided in the comfy lounge/tv room. |The extra touches of hospitality make this guest house and its hosts stand out, for example, the welcome drink after a very long drive and the home baked cookies and cake! |P.s we still feel guilty about the hungry hippos ! ||Thanks so much for everything Ian and Kate!

Warm, welcoming B&B with a standout homemade breakfast We stayed at The Old School House, Haltwhistle and had a fantastic visit. Kate and Ian are wonderful hosts—genuinely friendly and attentive. Our room was clean, bright, and very comfortable, and we slept brilliantly. The breakfast was the star: everything homemade and absolutely delicious. It’s the kind of place that feels cared for in all the little details. Highly recommended. Stayed: August 2025

The accommodation was fantastic with the added bonus of a secure bike area, a washing/drying room and a spacious and comfortable lounge. |Breakfast was exceptional and included yoghurt, fruit, homemade muesli and the full range of cooked items including black pudding and haggis. Vegetarian options wre also available.The dining room was available all of the time which made it easy to eat any shop bought/takeaway lunch or dinner.|Kate and Ian were excellent hosts, very helpful and super friendly, they would even help you to or from from the local station or bus stop if needed. |The fresh milk and homemade cake left in your room each day was a real treat too.| Would definitely recommend 👍

Ian and Kate are such lovely people- warm juicing and exceptionally clean and modern room and bathroom. Gorgeous place- incredibly thoughtful and generous. Great breakfast. Really enjoyed staying here.

The best b&b we've ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, superb attention to detail and extra touches everywhere including lots of superb home made food options for the exceptional breakfast, cake and fresh milk in the rooms. A drying room for walkers, trays for muddy boots, i could go on! Kate and Ian had thought of everything and their place was peaceful, friendly and welcoming. You will not regret a stay here. We'll be back for certain.

This is pretty much perfect! The room was immaculate and had character too. Breakfast was amazing. The owners were just the best hosts. It's a great base to see Hadrian's Wall. Very highly recommended.

Can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay with Kate and Ian was! Lovely hosts, comfortable beds and a welcoming area on the main floor to relax and spread out. Great tastes in music and the breakfast was AMAZING!

What a wonderful stay! The welcoming sitting room full of books, music and games; the clean and comfortable room; and, best of all the best veggie breakfast I have ever had! The hosts went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming.
