Hedingham Castle

Visited for the Knights of Albion event on the August Bank holiday. Fantastic event with lots to do, including axe throwing and archery included in the tickets. Castle and grounds are lovely and well maintained, however aside from the castle itself, not much to do on the site, and can be covered in a couple of hours if there are no events on as the castle itself isn't very large.

3rd May 2025 - we finally had our day. The team at Hedingham Castle were absolutely amazing. The venue was absolutely stunning, our day was just perfect. From the aging old Castle to the Georgian House to wonderfully presented Marquee, we absolutely had the Wedding we hoped for. The entire team worked tremendously throughout, taking care of us and our guests. Our day ran smoothly, our guests drank, ate and danced and were were completely at ease taking it all in.. We love it, every single part of it. Thank you Hedingham Castle for making our day so special.

I spent a lovely few hours walking around the immaculately kept grounds of Hedingham Castle on the Time Trail. Finding hidden shields with dates and letters on. We then read the history of the castle and people related to the castle plus using the letter clues solved the puzzle and was rewarded once in the castle. A thoroughly lovely and very informative day. Several adults as well as children completing the trail. We then had a picnic by the lake. Beautiful grounds and structure, interesting tour, welcoming staff. We had a very pleasant visit. Our family of four from the US found our tour guide, Andy, entertaining and knowledgable and we were particularly grateful that he tolerated our fascination and inquiries about the 17th Earl.

We had our wedding at Hedingham Castle and we loved every moment of it! We felt in love with this venue the very first time we visited and we knew straight away we had to get married there. The venue however wouldn’t be the same without the amazing people that work there and make it all even more magical. Sarah helped us, reassured us along the way and made everything so much easier and more enjoyable alongside Jenny, Debbie and the rest of the staff that helped us out on the day. They all contributed to a very special day for us and our guests. Thanks Hedingham!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at Hedingham Castle for making our wedding day so special. From the moment we first visited, we completely fell in love with the venue - it’s truly magical. Everything ran so smoothly on the day, and the team were fantastic throughout. We had the best day of our lives at Hedingham Castle. As wedding venues go, this one truly is breathtaking and unique. The combination of the ceremony at the castle, drinks reception in the grounds of the manor house and wedding breakfast/evening in the marquee is impossible to beat. From start to finish, the staff were helpful, professional, friendly and attentive. We visited several times during the wedding planning process, spoke through all of our choices and Sarah helped us craft a wedding that was personal to us, with loads of advice and helpful input. They also responded quickly to emails whenever I needed which helped make the process stress free. On the day, Jackie made sure everything ran like clockwork and looked after both of us. We couldn't recommend this venue and it's staff more highly. Jack & Alice Bailey

We went there on the bank holiday weekend in August where the castle held a lovely fayre with a joust show and lovely medieval style stalls. We had a great time and I highly recommend going with your little ones. We will be back for sure

This was a fantastic day out. We went on the May jousting weekend. Had the best fun in a while. The entertainment was brilliant, the jousting was highly amusing, absolutely amazing watching the kids (and dads) 😁enjoy themselves with the play swords in the arena. Incredible to listen to the history from the various staff who shared their historic knowledge and showed their personal collection of artifacts. The birds of prey was so beautiful to watch. A definite must go. Very well organised. Couldn’t fault it. And the Sun finally came out. Thank you
