Molly was a fantastic waitress, so lovely and personable and couldn’t do enough for us! Took time to get to know us and was very knowledgeable of the history of the pub, she spoke so highly of the owners and managers! The food was incredible and we look forward to returning very soon. We were made very welcome at the Layer Fox Pub. Our party of 10 had people with various dietary needs and the pub catered for all of us. Family friendly and old school hospitality with superb service. Would recommend. Food was v good including a super Fish and Chips. Perfect after a day at Colchester Zoo.

Yesterday, we held my Mum's wake at the Layer Fox and we can't thank them enough. Annie kindly organised everything perfectly and all of the staff were both polite and respectful. The food was 5 star. All of our guests were very impressed and we would highly recommend for any gathering.

We had a lovely meal and the setting was good and staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Mother's Day Sunday lunch was really tasty food, and we all enjoyed I had beef roast and it was superb, my parents enjoyed their meals very much my mother is Gluten Free which they were very well informed on. Fabulous staff very helpful could Recommend highly, Great ambience we had a table booked for 12pm so was a little chilly but they kindly put the heater on. We are so lucky to have such a great pub locally, and wonderful staff and professional, courteous.

Comfortable overnight stay after arriving at Harwich on the Ferry ⛴️. Excellent breakfast. Annie made us feel at home. Definitely recommend.

What a jem. Our first visit after moving to the area. Good sound track. Pink lamb.good beer and the most delicious carrot , cabbage and pitta bread ever.We will be back.

Sunday roast is one of the best I’ve had and it beat me, delicious roast beef, veg was fresh not frozen!! Staff were brilliant….. in fact truly outstanding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
